Hum you didn't checked the customs duty simply bought from ebay.com there the issue when you import anything you have to pay the customs duty it will be 35% total value including shipping not sure it is increased or not.

you have to pay the duty to get the product dont return the product that means you will lose your money and the item will be in customs office they will not return it mostily.

So only option is to pay the duty and collect the item as soon as possible thats it

I have checked the above model in amzon.in the price is around Rs 122,500.00

that means you can simply calculate it = 89000 + 30900 = Rs 119,900

you can see why amazon listed that price its including import charges and all.

Its better to accept it by paying customs duty or you just forget about your money you spend.if you return it who will pay the return shipping and the destination country customs duty? the process is not simple

otherwise you have to accept the item paying customs duty then ship back to the seller its but its risky and you will lose lot of money in it.Why you need to give it back accept it and enjoy your HT the model you selected have very good reviews.use it if you dont like it sell it locally.

Too late to do anything now. As suggested above, pay the customs duty and collect the receiver.

If the total price is too high for you to digest, you can try selling it without opening the sealed box to recover the loss.

Is there any way to reduce custom amount

see divakar you can easily calculate the customs duty with your billing so why you asking these questions its impossible to reduce customs duty its fixed with the total value of the product including shipping.Just collect the item then you decide to keep it or resell it

Just remember its very good receiver for the price

INR 31,000 infact is not more at all

I was charged rs 6000 including penalty and stuff for 2 preamp kits worth rs 13000

All this because they wanted individual prices of all the parts in the kit as they felt it's much more then the invoice. This is even after showing them the PayPal amount I paid

I exchanged email for a month and in the end had no option other then just to tell them to charge whatever they felt is appropriate

So it's a fair amount the OP is paying for duty. If the OP felt he could have just gotten away paying a few thousands , then sorry that's not possible

Customs Duty is charged on assessable value arrived at by adding invoice value, freight and insurance charges. The government notified exchange rate is taken for computing invoice value in INR. The notional value of insurance is taken if the actual value is not available.s
In case of courier imports of high value like this one, courier companies do not pay the CD on their own and inform the consignee first. You can ask the courier to let you approach the assessing authority for assessment to your satisfaction.

If I am not wrong, Amazon.com would offer you a price in foreign currency at a foreign location. You will have to pay CD on the same.

I can see this model is on discount and available at around 89k @ amazon.com. This is inclusive of shipping to India and customs as well. The only question in my mind would be that it is a 110V model.
The OP has however ordered through ebay where the specific listing may not have the CD included in the price offered.
