hi friends,
i have ordered a Norge 1000 amp and a set of tower speaker from Norge. In fact i had booked in Dec 3rd week and am waiting for the delivery. I would like to know about the player. Are this regular DVD/BD players good enough for audio also? the other Hifi players are with speakers and i do not need them. Are there players available in India which are without amplifier or have a pre amp out. are there imported products also available in the grey market. somewhere in Delhi/Kolkata. Info would be helpful.

Regards
Suman

It'll be a good idea to spend 17-18000 for a Marantz CD player (CD5003/4) and good interconnects, speaker wire to complete the set. Otherwise you'll keep wondering if buying the speakers and amp was worth it.

for that system you dont need a dedicated cdp. you'll be wasting money if you buy something in the range of 15-20k. just a good dvd player will be good enough. at the most you get an entry level marantz or denon or something along those lines. use the money you saved to buy some good music

If you have 15 - 20 K to spend for CDP, by all means go ahead. What afj is trying to say is that - your amp and speakers may become a limiting factor for the performance possible from the CDP. But, you will enjoy your CDs far more with a dedicated CDP that a DVD player for the same given setup.

Thanks for all the inputs. will wait for the amp/speakers to connect to the existing DVD player and listen to the bliss.....cheers.

Wrong info!!

i think our views that we put down are our opinions. its all about best bang for the buck. on what can you spend your budget to extract most out of a system. in this case i dont believe you will get best value out of spending 18k on a cdp. the improvement in sq should be worth the extra money spent.
