Need opinion on Samsung:40EH5000

just browsing on Ebay, i came across this: Samsung

I want your opinion on the following:
1. Price
2. Warranty
3. Picture quality
4. Samsung Panel lottery applicable or not
5. Any experience of buying from this seller

No need to buy it from Ebay as Samsung has started selling this product from their Plazas and authorized dealers.

Mostly you will get dealer warranty not company's warranty if you buy it on Ebay.

Initially I was also thinking buying this model but I am finalizing 40eh5300 as it a smart and cost wise it only 5 to 7 k more than eh5000.

I saw PQ of D5500 which I feel much better than Sony Ex520, better file format support than Sony.

I have not seen myself picture quality of 5300 but I think it will be better than D5500 as new model is based on full array back lit LED technology instead of edge array.

Let us know what quote you are getting from your place. I got quote of 58k for eh5300 in Pune.

This is an dealer's warranty, so it is an grey piece. No samsung direct warranty.

I saw demo of 40ES5000 and was very much impressed. I could not do side by side comparison with other brands as I took demo in Samsung Plaza.

I am into bad loop. Initially I was thinking for 40ES5330, but then I thought why not 3D and stretched my budget.

Now I am still waiting waiting waiting for ES6200 and Panasonic 42ST50.
My decision will be based on following factors Price > Quality > Features.

I am going to buy LED or Plasma before July. I have kept July as a dead line for this purchase.

i myself got the 32eh5000 pic quality is awesome better than anything on the 2011 lineup(spend 3 days demoing models)
but dre r a few complaints bout games ghosting a bit.
m not an avid gamer so cant input on that the ones i tried are playable enough
for playing your hd content or picture quality alone couldnot find anything better under my budget 34k for a 32 incher.you might have more options on the 40 inch screens
very personal opinion but i found the pic quality to be better than the sony 32ex520 to an extent which was around 5k costlier.
go to a multibrand shop carry your own videos and you can judge yourself
not sure about the panel lottery as samsung seems to have changed their naming patterns most people from india seems to have got the AH01 panels whereas amazon.com seems to be selling ts01/ts02 panels
irrespective of what panel it looks damn good
you can ask farookh for a feedback too he got the eh5300(he has an unboxing thread in the forum)

Samsung produces artificial color where Sony produces more natural color...I don't think other videophile gonna believe that samsung's pq better than sony's.
But it's about individual decision to choose between real and artificial color reproduction.

its really upto ones perception of colors...................i do like my videos a bit vibrant though rather than flat
on the other hand calibration is always there if you want to achieve any particular scenario and it works very well irrespective of brands and tags
end of the day it always comes down to the buyers preference
videophile and audiophile are both relative terms i would rather not stereotype either

If u really like vibrant image just select the vivid option in pic settings in sony..u have vibrant color.

exactly what am saying you can calibrate any brand to reproduce he type of colors you want for the sammy just get the sharpness and color levels down and you get a natural tone.matter of fact our main display in da living room is a 40ex520 the sammy is for my personal use.
and personally i do prefer the pic quality of the eh5000 to the ex520 to an extent.
agreed the ex520 was the top budget model in the 2011 lineup.............
but sammy and pana's 2012 lineups have really stepped it up
