Need parts for my Yammy avr

Hi all,
I'm in a need of a transistor (voltage regulator) for my yammy avr. I had given the receiver to Rythm Corner(delhi) and its been there for almost 20 days now. The Rymth coner guys asked me to wait as they tried to get the part from their sources and finally told me that could not get the part so it cannot be repaired.
I'm not aware of any other service centres in delhi that could repair it or atleast get the part required. If any one of you are aware of another service centre that could help me, please let me know.
By the way, the part required NJU7201L55 is easily available over the internet from USA but the shipping to India for a 60 cents transistor is $40.
I would also appreciate if someone can help me get the part here from usa for a lesser price

I think you have two options.

1. Look at specs of this particular part and get a transistor that has same specs. I guess then it would be a matter of skating out local parts shops.
2. Give a call to "yamaha music India". They should be able to supply it from local inventory.

I have checked about this part in Yamaha service centre ,Dubai.
They have this part and they say its an IC costing Dhs.50.
If you need it still, please let me know.

Have you studied the datasheet of the I.C.. It is a simple 3 terminal low dropout voltage regulator giving o/p of 5.5V. You can try LM7805 3 terminal I.C.that is widely available for Max Rs. 10 in most local electronic shops. Differences are LM7805 is the normal version with o/p capacity of 1.5 Amp with proper heatsinking and NJU7201L55 has o/p limited to 100ma. Also the pin config is diff, so connect the proper terminals to the proper points on the P.C.B..

You can try www.national.com for more devices similar to yours.

Download datasheets of both the parts and compare.

I was in a hurry and got the part from china. It did cost me a lot more than what its worth, but that was just because of the shipping.
I'm happy that my yammy is alive again
