Need suggestions for choosing a HT set up

sure. I get you.
Also the 5.1 v7.1 seems to be like opening a can of worms. so many views for and against each. In my case the sofa will be placed against the wall. Moving the sofa away from the wall is ruled out. So thinking of settling with 5.1. Your thoughts?

I always knew I would go to 7.1, just did not know when, and should have bought the 7.1 AVR in the first place. But if you are fine with 5.1, then cool, but as I said, the 5W more + overall build quality + Internet and Audyessy(not too sure how good it is) pick the x1000 or the 473. Do a quick review on Cnet/Crutchfield and see which is rated better.

Hi, Please find a few images of my living room to give you a better idea of my requirement. What you see is a 42" TV, that should give relative size of things. the width of the wall behind sofa is 14' and the distance b/w that wall and the TV is 12'. Given an option I would like to have rear speakers also as floor standers (to avoid work on the walls for cables). If I have to stretch my budget and go for floor standers for front as well as rear, what would be the best option, without having to rob a bank :) ? Would something like Wharfe vardus 300 be fine? Just to reiterate my need, I am more interested in precision and details than loudness.

Our balcony is on the other side of the glass door (behind the curtains), and the only way to go there is thru the gap b/w the TV cabinet and the sofa. So, I can't move the sofas much closer. Do you guys still a 7.1 fitting in?

PS: Dont' worry about the lighting from the glass door on the right side of the room. It's not that bad in real.

For a room size 15x12, IMO, I can not imagine a 4 x FS (F/R Left, F/R Right). And more over 7.1 will be pathetic.

IMO, Best option for 15x12 room size will be 5.1 satellites for movies, and a separate 2 BS while listen to music.
