Hi Friends,

I'm planning to get speakers for which primary purpose is to listen to Audio songs (Mostly Indian Songs)
Additionally it would be good to have music related to playback of movies etc.
I currently have Onkyo 3500 Htib with me.
I have looked at the following options
  1. B&W Book Shelf Speakers(Bowers & Wilkins - 600 Series 6-1/2" Passive 2-Way Bookshelf Speakers (Pair))
  2. Bose or Sonos Sound bar with Bass Unit.(Bose Soundbar 700 + Bose Bass Module 700)

If I go for Option 1 is it advisable to get a separate Amp as was suggested to me by a guy at Best Buy something like this atleast (Pioneer - Elite 100W 2.0-Ch. Amplifier )

My Budget is between Rs 50k to 1 Lakh ($750 to $1500)
Since I'm planning to travel from US to India.
If these are reasonably priced in US would prefer to get from US.
Just worried about how much would be the trade off in case I purchase this in India considering the Voltage Restrictions and Customs Duty to get them to India.

Kindly advise.

For option 1 check for some class d amp such as Wyred4sound that do not have voltage restrictions.

Also, consider Schiit Vidar that comes for 220 v too.

Why not consider an all in one like KEF LSX if buying from US.
It is within your budget ($1100) or in India it is listed at 1.1L
Cheers,
Raghu
I would heartily second that. add a good streamer like the Auralic Aries with a Lifatec SPDIF Cable, and you have a simple but Killer Combo.

The KEF LS50 is a marvel if your room is not too big. It is. a great studio monitor and used in many recording studios.
