Samsung D6600/LG LW5700/6500 for bluray movies & gaming (80 to 85k)

hiiiii guys :ohyeah:
I am thinking to get a 3dtv this diwali my usage will be (hd movies = 50%,pc gaming = 30% & dailly soaps = 20%)
last sunday I went to croma & got a demo of samsung d6600 & lg lw5700 & lw6500

1) The 3d clip of lg & the 3d the depth was amazing(petals , bubbles can & football ) are coming in 3d:ohyeah: & it has the brighter picture my mom loved it very much the samsung on the other hand had darker images & the 3d clip was not so impressive some underwater clip that has some fishes coming in 3d :p

2) but when we talk about the picture quality i am blown away by sammy & gifts are also far better with d6600:licklips:

3) warranty is the dampener here samsung only provides 1 year & lg has the option of amc (5yrs) = (24 k ) but good thing is it will run for 6yrs :ohyeah:

4)croma has a sale price 95k for samsung d6600 after discount 85k lg panels also got 10% dis on their sale price

5) now pretty much confused what to buy

6) sales person told me to book before 10 days so guys please help

Jerry, there are a number of TV threads running with extensive technical discussions on the various models.

With reference to your particular query, all I can say is that I have been using a LG TV for 2 years and am very happy with the results. I recently used a Blu-Ray set up disc, and the blacks, contrast, and colors have become amazing. The volume of the internal speakers is not very good, but that is immaterial to me.

Cheers

thanx guys

@venkastcr hii buddy I also know that many threads are running with many technical discussions but it confuses me what to buy after all my moms hard earned cash(savings) are going to invest on this tv so i want specially yours valuable suggestions before finalizing a model I am student now after getting a job i would take risks but not now
@avmaxfan hiii buddy i have heard that Sony's after sales service is not good compared to samsung & lg

^
Dunno where you got that from but its not true. Its as good(or bad) as Samsung and LG.

Also with the Sony you can buy 2 years additional warranty by paying just 3000Rs.
:)

Ya thats right i saw that add 1 week ago (2yrs warranty @ 3k)
I was also a sony fan in the past for their picture quality some of my cousin brothers also got sony but after compared sony ex 520 & samsung d5000 with a THIS IS IT blu ray in april i found the blacks are better in samsung & some of my friends faced delayed service & warranty issues im the past with sony

No need go to other sites you can read LG and Samsung horror stories on this forum itself .:)

So what I am saying is none of the three companies - LG Sony Samsung are any better or worse than each other. They can be equally pathetic.

Hi James,

is there any reason you are not looking at plasma........panasonic has some of the best 3D tv's in the market, some even better than samsung or lg. Also for 3D many videophiles prefer 3D over LED, but that is a personal choice. I suggest you to also go demo panasonic VT20 and ST30 in low ambient lighting and then take a final call.

thanks buddy:clapping: by the way you are using which tv at home ?

I love to buy a plasma(because it has great picture quality & better 3d):ohyeah: but worried about burn-in problems
 during PC gaming i am a die hard 1st person & 3rd person shooter fan also i will use it for browsing & the extra power consumption also worries me but many plasma lovers are here so please comment on guys how is plasma for pc games ?

Yes power consumption is definitely high no doubt. It reaches almost 300 watts sometimes. If you are okay with that then I would also say seriously look at VT20. It was the best plasma of 2010. :)

And the PQ is on a different level compared to the LG LW6500/D6600/NX720

As far as PC Gaming is concerned, plasmas are quite good I believe as they have much faster motion than LCDs generally but yes burn in is an issue if you do game for long hours. You can google VT25 plasma gaming burn in and you will see hundreds of posts and complaints regarding burn in.

And among the LCDs in your budget NX720 has the lowest response time and hence will be the best choice for gaming.

I have the panasonic 50V20................ref gaming have a look here:

Console Gaming
As with the rest of the 2011 Panasonic Plasmas, gaming is excellent on the TX-P50VT30B. We measured its video processing adding just 24 ms of lag. We measured this figure in the Game picture mode, although the other modes felt just as fast, provided we hadnt enabled the [Intelligent Frame Creation] system, which by its very nature adds some noticeable delay. Having only 24 ms of input lag means that we can recommend the Panasonic TX-P50VT30 to just about anyone whos into gaming; only some CRT die-hards whove mastered every single combo move in beat-em-up games would be able to sense any sort of delay. Gaming felt fluid, fast and enjoyable on this HDTV.

I do not think gaming would be an issue specially with the panasonic 2011 models.

^^
Hey aakash
(Haha for a change I'm not arguing with you :P LOL)
As you would have read even I am aware of the fact that Plasma has very little motion lag and is highly suitable for gaming BUT the problem is it has burn in issues. It won't be an issue in games where there is fast moving action and you only need to play for about an hour. But long hours gaming and games with scenes that do not change for quite some time might pose a problem. :)

And no need to quote any reviews to support your claim, its universally knows that plasmas have much faster motion than LCDs generally. Nobody will argue over that.

Cheers!
