New 50" TV buying advice

I have been purchasing Videocon products since 1993 and my Videocon Bazoomba TV(2000) is still running well. Of late I have not purchased any of their Videocon branded products.But I purchased a kelvinator Washing Machine which is a brand of Videocon at extremely attractive price during this Diwali for my parents.

What i can say is that their service is extremely good even today since the 90s and are value for money products. i see that their TVs are priced above VU,Micromax etc but well below panasonic and other big brands but equivalent to Toshiba and Philips price. During Diwali many of the showrooms I visited reported good sales of their 50 inch products in Delhi and their picture quality was excellent for their price compared to other big brands in
the same showrooms. This has been my experience.

Agree with you. Been taking rounds of electronic stores for some time now and every time I take a look at Videocon TVs, the value for money proposition blows every TV from Samsung, Sony, LG, etc away. I even kept them side by side and compared. The quality of the picture is equally good if not better. Samsung colours for one, I find too saturated, so that's off my list for sure. Plus the number of accessories with Videocon, 5 year warranty, bundled 3D glasses, skype camers, etc. makes it sound too good to be true. Hence, was wondering why no body is opting for a Videocon TV. Are they not marketing it well, or something else.

My Experience says...
Apart from auditioning the Sony|Panasonic|Sammy|LG Models check for the below important things...

1. HEVC || HDCP 2.2 || h.265 encoding
2. HDMI 2.0 compatibility
3. USB Playback 3.0
4. 4K Upscale Feature
5. Company which gives Max. Warranty

VU|Micromax|Toshiba|Phillips|Haier|AOC are all good but not for Long Runs... i.e 4-5 years.
You will need the above checks to be in safe side for atleast couple of years.

Thank you so much for putting this down, making it easy for everyone. Could you please if possible, jot down the brand with model numbers which come close to be equipped with either all or most of the above features? Would greatly help us shortlist the models.
