New PHILIPS dvd player not working from day1

I had bought a PHILIPS DVD-DVP3326 player this sunday.When I bought it home and tried to operate,the tray wouldn't come out.Very bad quality,have been running after service people at toll free number,they are yet to show up,despite having been promised that their service guy would come home.Bad judgement on my part to buy this because,this was in fact the second player the sales guy had to test and deliver,since the first set he gave me was also not working at the sales point itself.Rs.2.425 going down the drain:sad:
 
why cant you go back to the shop where you bought and throw for replacment for new piece... any limitations/instructions once the purchase is over we should go thru proper channel ????

I should have then and there gone for another manufacturer,say LG or Onida,when the first Philips player he gave me also did not work.But this one,the second piece did work,only once,when he gave the demo.
 
Big bazaar is better than Saravana Stores????..Knowingly u let your legs down.. I know people who bought mobile there since it were sold cheap and then for issues they were dragged to hell:sad:

I have feeling all the goods sold by saravana were seconds/factory rejected...So they could sell it for cheap.

This only clears that they were quite sure about the quality of the pieces they have and don't want to provide any service once sold. If you don't get replacement, simply void warranty (anyways if its of no use) and get tray mechanism changed from local repair shop. I am sure there are few replacements available at reasonable price. At least you can it working anyways.
 
Go during rush hour and create a ruckus ! Ask for refund since the product was defective from day 1, If that does not work give them in writing that you will go to consumer court and claim compensation of Rs.10000 :licklips:
 
You should be an another "Goon" to go and shout at Saravana. Already they are...I believe there will be no response.

So much bad impressions were spread /proved and undergone.. There is no change in people mentality. People have mad rush towards saravana for saving some bucks.

My known people who are "Wealthy" prefer to go to saravana and buy the cheap goods.
 
first try warentee service only. any opening by unauthorised person voids the warentee.
BTW when my parents DVD all in one went kaupt in 2 months after warentee,i got it repaired. Repairman commented adversly on the parts used by philips
 
Its better you try out for some private repair agency instead of the company service. Company service will consume a lot of time. They will say atleast 1 week. That too Philips service is quiet bad.
 
If I were you, I'd find some free time and take it to the Philips Service center and demand a new piece from them. If they neither replace it nor offer instant service (chances are it's the power supply section which has to be replaced), then shove Philips and Saravana Stores into consumer court.

I own a Phillips Music system and a dvd player that have worked without issues for 3 years now. The service center near CBI office at Bangalore has also been very friendly and provided good service.

In your case, I would also suggest you to take the equipment to the authorized service center. If they do not provide good service, go to consumer court.

Yeah,people go to Saravana stores to save some bugs,it's the cheapest in TAMILNADU.No,it's not seconds or defective products there,but it's still cheap.About creating ruckus there,would be thrown out of 6th floor,did you see the movie,Angadi theru?
I took it to the service centre and got it repaired.A day old electronic good being repaired.The service guy put the blame on me saying,it was because of me closing the tray with hand!.How will I close with hand when the tray didn't open in the first place!
