Hello friends. I'm new here but I regularly visit the forum and received many valuable tips. Now I've joined here to discus matters and get good suggestions.
Please tell me where can I get new turntable in Kolkata. I've old HMV fiesta, HMV 1010 stereo, Philips 533,633, etc but I want to buy a new one. Please help me. My budget is not too high. Thanks in advance.:)

Try sarema.com - at right corner at the bottom there is link LP Lanco turntables are shown ranging 9490/- to 27990/-. Try ebay.in there are 2 available. Keep on trying on ebay.in and quikr.com

I would avoid the plastic stuff made by Denon. The weak rupee has made them even more expensive and not worth it. A little more money will fetch you a quality Pro Ject Debut Carbon. There is no better turntable for the money than this Pro Ject. It will set you back quite a bit. I am guessing 30k. Pro Ject have support in India too.

You can get a nice vintage tt for about 10K (excluding the cartridge) which will be way better than the plastic stuff sold for about 2 times that money currently. Post an ad in the wanted section. You may also PM Kuruvilla Jacob sir as he may have something to spare with. FM Shafic may also help you on that matter.

just a tip to set your mind in motion :)

I had an old turntable (a Garrard SP25 MK1) and wanted to buy a new one. I ended up buying 2, a Teac P988 and a Technics SLBD20B. After buying and using both these, I realized that my old Garrard was miles and miles ahead of the new ones, not just from a build quality perspective but also from a performance perspective.

I expected a significant difference in performance with the new ones but was very disappointed. Also I thought my friends would admire my new TTs and talk about me owning them, however the reality was they all started asking me why I made a mistake :)

FM shafic also has a few for sale, not sure but he might have sold them already.

Thanks my friend for your valuable opinions. I've changed my mind and won't go for new one. Thanks again.

Dear friend, saregama has stopped selling them and flipkart has permanently discontinued their products (turntables). thanks for your advice however.

If you want a new turntable on a budget, please do not buy anything other than a project debut/genie. Everything else in low budget sold in india is trash and not recommended.

Its a pity that the rega distributor decided to quit.

Yes. The vintage TTs are miles ahead of the new plastic ones including Pro ject in my opinion. I do have a few TTs for sale advertised on OLX.Kottayam. I've got a few more which I will be posting shortly

I have not checked if U Turn Audio ship turntables to India. If they do, their Orbit Basic turntable is what you should be looking at. Made in USA too. Shipping and customs included should set you back <20k. It takes something for Analog Planet to sing praises about a cheap turntable.

They don't.

Also, their's are 110V models. No 220-240V models yet.
