New TV needed

Will check out Iffalcon as well.. I mainly intend to view 5-6 HD channels on Tatasky and watch Netflix and Amazon prime.. Maybe some downloaded movies in blue ray, HD format.. it's a toss up between Xiaomi and Iffalcon thrn.

Better to go with Iffalcon by TCL 55K31, I bought it for my brother in December. Good panel for the price, Android 9 with all the apps working fine. Amazon Prime and Netflix both are in 4k and then you have all the usual Indian apps too. The firmware updates are taken care of by TCL team, so they do provide bug fixes etc.

VU Cinema TV is also a good option with 500 nits brightness, soundbar, Android 9 but 55 inch is showing out of stock on Amazon, should get back in stock soon i guess.

Havn't demoed Vu Cinema, but I have Vu pixelight and OAUHD models in 42in and 75in. Pixelight lack in brightness. OAUHD is good and bright.

TCL - I demoed 65in P8S model in a TCL store (there are quite a few in BLR) and I was very happy with its upscaling, colors and brightness. Bro-in law bought 55K2A in Dec, nice bright panel, but not good upscaling.

Demoed MI 55in TV, guess it was 4A model. Not happy with its brightness and had washed out colors for what I saw.

Points to note : There is lot of variation in PQ within the same model range with screen size variations. Example, MI 4x 50 in has different panel, brightness and pic processor compared to Mi 4x 65in.

Out of all, VU and TCL are mostly the same, but I found TCL to be better for whatever demo I did. Again, most of my demo is 65in or more, so I am not too sure how much of that tickles down to lower screen size.

^ I agree, Xiaomi panels have looked worst to me in the budget segment, better to go with either VU or Iffalcon(TCL). And with Xiaomi you never know when they will start inserting ads in TV like their phones here, they have already started inserting ads before TV starts in China.
