VR will only truly take off when the devices get more affordable, more comfortable, less bulky, something like spectacles or maybe contact lenses.
right now oculus go is still too bulky to use, has poor battery life, has limited functionality in it is only 180 degrees not 360, etc.
I think VR is Windows 3.2 right now. Just before the Big Bang of Windows 95 that put it mainstream.
Let’s not call it VR. Mixed Reality will be a better word. Combination of VR and something else, maybe AR. That will be when it goes mainstream. It eventually will, in an evolved form.
Having experienced a beta/alpha version if it, This is the FUTURE of media IMO.

There is some screen door effect, can be blurry sometimes. You then don’t notice it after a while. It also depends on video.
If I try to play a resolution higher than 4K, it stutters.
its good enough I guess though a higher resolution playback capability would be nice.
right now, my biggest gripe Is battery life, comfort factor, unable to watch YouTube properly while laying in bed.
When it works, it is great.
it’s a work in progress.
Go with realistic expectations, you won’t be too disappointed even at the overprice of 23K. :-
These are my observations. Others might differ.
