My dad gave me his old onkyo integra a-8690 amp. The problem is that it has not been used for some years, and now it has some issues. Several rotary buttons don't work properly, e.g. sometimes only one speaker working, sometimes one quieter than the other and so on. Also, I feel the base noise is quite loud, so that I can hear it a little when listening to music. It just feels broken and rusty, it is a horrible experience to turn the buttons until i have both speakers working time and time again and hoping no noise will appear and ruin the experience or one speaker decides to turn off. I need something reliable. and my amp to not have noise. I brought it to a repair guy, said he fixed it all, but really nothing changed. It's a quality amp and I don't want to sell it as broken.
What can I do to try and fix this? Getting a new amp is expensive and a hassle, but if you have recommendations, drop them.
System:
Focal Chora 806
Wiim Mini
Onkyo A-8690
