Dear All,

would like to know major difference between between ht-s 3300 and h-s 3305,i would like to order ht-s 3305 as ht-s 3300 is not available in Dubai.

i can see on the onkyo international site. Audyssey Dynamic eq and 2 Eq is missing in 5305.

does it makes much difference for watching movies on ht-s 3305 as per the above feature.

need Inputs from owners and Masters .

Note: i Cannot audition as there is no local dealers.

I own 3300 and I personally prefer Audyssey disabled while watching movies or listening to music. For some reason, Audyssey makes everything sound very 'passive' and boomy.
I, however, found that Dynamic EQ (which needs Audyssey) did improve the dialogue clarity on one of the movies which had a stereo soundtrack with wide variations in loudness levels of different frequencies.

Hope this helps.

Thanks i think this is ok for me.
Will order for ht-3 3305.

This New Year i saw hts-3305 at E-Zone in Chennai ... It was priced at 24990 as an offer price against the MRP of 33000.I di not audition it but had seen 4 to 5 pieces kept for sale.

Guys I have an urgent query as I need to make a decision on this.

I had finalized the HT3300 @ 23k unfortunately the dealer ran out of stock and was honest enough to say they only had the display unit left (he can source another piece from a vendor it would take a few days).

He has offered me the HT3305 @ 25k + Pioneer 220k DVD Player. The sales guy told me that the 3305 has HDMI and the 3300 doesnt? Whats that about?

After having done some comparisons I see that :
HT3300 - 120watt rms + Audyssey/Dyanamic EQ
HT3305 - 100watt rms (No Audyssey)

Otherwise the 2 are identical.

Currently I have an aging Philips DVp-3046 player performing its duties.

The Pioneer 220k doesnt have optical out, and is a 2.1 player? Will it be useless having this mated with the 3305 ?

Am I better of just foregoing the freebie and buying a fully loaded philips 5.1 with optical output for 4-5k?

Just a bit confused?!

I think you should go through the thread about Pioneer DV220K by Venkat Sir. According to him, it is currently the best budget DVD player in India. Available in grey as well as authorized retail market. It has DD & DTS decoder and can output through co-axial and HDMI (including 2 channel downmixing). Always a safe bet.

I am going to buy it tomorrow. :yahoo:

Thanks! Chiron I will continue the 220k discussion in VenkatsCr Review thread

Guys how about the 3300 vs 3305. The AVR remains the same, so the lower RMS rating is because they are supplying different speakers?

why is it that 3305, is more costly than 3300?

the specs of 3300 is better right?

Raju, you have purchased the 3300, its the right choice....now enjoy it!!!

3300 is being phased out so there were certain discounts on it. You will find that the 3305 is being sold by the big retailers and they are rigid in pricing.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
