Onkyo TX-NR609 vs Denon AVR1912

Hi,

I am new to this forum but not to the Hi-Fi domain.

Just to add in 2 bits of mine...AV components dealer in suburban Mumbai (Mulund) informed me that Denons are better built and run cooler than Onkyos- basically due to the difference in transformer design.

Least Prices as quoted by him (with Bill and Warranty): Denon AVR1911: Rs. 38500/-, Onkyo TX-SR608: Rs. 39500/- with installation (if needed)
 
update to my post, most authorized onkyo dealers in Mumbai have no stock of 608 or 609.

TX-NR609 quoted price Rs. 45000/-
 
I read the discussions on Onkyo TXNR609. I am ripping my CDs to FLAC lossless (44.1khz/16bit) and storing in 1TB external HD. I also have been downloading 96KHz/24bit & 192KHz/24Bit music files.
I bought the TXNR609 because it has USB input so I could conveniently play back my all the tracks via USB. Unfortunately it can not play 192/24 flac.
My aim was to be able to hear the same quality sound from FLAC as from the original CD played on Cambridge Audio 650BD. But I am disappointed that the USB playback is not as good as the CD.
Elsewhere others have commented that USB has "clocking" problems and possibly difficulty in multiple processing as "Receiving/accessing the file, interpolating it to PCM from FLAC, and then passing it onto the DAC for processing.
What would I need to do (different way of connection not using USB or any other combinations) so I could have the same SQ from FLAC and CD?
Any help will be appreciated.

609 can play audio files over DLNA - you may want to try that.
 
you own a toshiba lcd tv. i bought toshiba 32" hd ready lcd tv and am satisfied with the performance. the dealer told me that it has a 10 bit panel as compared to 8 bit in sony and samsung 32". now tell me why did you settle for a toshiba 40" and how do you rate the performance as i am planning to buy a 55inch panel and confused between the biggies samsung sony and lg. how do you compare these biggies with toshiba.
 
The Onkyo TX NR609 is a great Mid Level AV Receiver for my purposes. I have absolutely no need for Airplay or pre-outs for external amp connections. I needed the NR609 in powering my 2 sub woofers, bi-amping my front Klipsch F3 speakers in my 5.2 system, connecting my PC via the VGA port, a much needed wireless USB (UWF-1) adapter for streaming for less than $30US, and last but not least, a 4K upgrade video chip. This will be required when the newer HD 4K TVs start arriving at the end of the year. It meets my purpose on a Grand Scale. There's nothing like listening to Petrula Kupper - Once Upon a Time in the West on You Tube (3:24) at 75% of volume. I double dare you. Life is good and my closest neighbor lives 2 acres away. Perhaps I should turn it up to 85% of volume.
 
In Simple Terms Denon AVR 1912..its has superior Audio Quality...and all the features u need,,,and AVR 1912 is available in India...Just Check cnet.com for reviews on both the models..Denon AVR 1912 is an Editors Choice for this year..

I am planning a trip to thailand towards the end of this year, may be november. can you suggest the place to buy AVRs in Bangkok. And it ll be great help if you could PM me the prices there for the models being discussed here.

Do you think the warranty they offer in TH will be valid in India as well.
