OnkyoHTS 3500 or Yamaha or Sony BDV-N590

Hello All - I have surveyed few home theatre models..some basic questions

1. Is it advisable to go for a full home theatre from 1 company or pick out the best from each of the brands? My budget is less than 1 Lac.

2. I am impressed with Onkyo AV receivers but got lost in it after looking at its features. Can anyone suggest specific features i need to look for?

3. Notice some Onkyo AVR has THX certified models? Is THX still relevant today?

4. In the event of getting Onkyo AVR, i plan to get Bose jewel cubes after a couple of months along with their Acoustimass..Are they compatible with Onkyo AVR? Noticed that all Onkyo AVR's are 6 ohms only.

5. Will Onkyo cover warranty for their products bought in Singapore assuming international warranty is there....

Hi Suganth,

I was a proud owner of Onkyo HT 3500, which i sold last month only. Its the best fr movies within the budget. It cost arnd 27K in Chennai. You can get Onkyo without having a second thoughts. I loved it and used to watch 2-5 movies every weekend.

Right now , i m looking to get SOny BDV-N590 frm Singapore. From the reviews , it seems to be gud , anyways i can comment after getting it.
