hi,
i got my sub(JAMO D6 THX),now i would like to add sub to my floor standing speakers. i connected dedicated stereo outputs from oppo to stereo amp and sub out from multichannel to JAMO subwoofer input. I am not getting any sound from subwoofer.
i want to get 2.1 from cd playback. if i select speakers to small then i will not do justice to my floorstanding speakes.
any settings that i can try?

I am not sure thats the right way to connect.

Selecting speakers as large means they are full rangers which also means unless there is a dedicated lfe track (like in movies .1) nothing will go to the sub. When you select them as small, there is one caveat, that the oppo has a default setting of a crossover at 80hz to the sub and has no bass management to change it.

Check the oppo faq, I am not sure if using the stereo output, if you can still use the multichannel sub out.

The bigger question is why do you need your sub connected if you have floorstanders in the first place.

Subs receive dedicated low input from content on video.
Floorstanders offer the chance to use the pure stereo mode on an avr and listen to stereo content without the sound getting raped by multiple crossovers and digital separation to multiple speakers and subwoofer.

thanks for all inputs, even though i am happy with floor standers(canton vento), i think the little oomph from the sub will increse the presence of the music.
i tried to the following config.
1)dedicated stereo outputs to my stereo amp(pioneer SA9800)
2)FL and FR to subwoofer L&R inputs, then the bass from the subwoofer is two much boomy,if i connect the same with my MARANTZ SR14 SUB out then the presence from sub is more involving, blending well with the front speakers.
but i want to run sub when using the pioneer stereo amp.
regards
