I was using HTPC hooked to Optoma through Denon 2312. AVR's HDMI out is not working anymore and I am trying few workarounds. I am trying to hook up the HTPC to PJ via HDMI directlyand use optical to route sound to AVR. This PJ via AVR was detecting HTPC fine. HTPC with another LCD tv works fine. That rules out any issues with cable etc. Its a ASUS AMD motherboard with Integrated AMD Radeon HD 7000 Series Graphics.

Anything that I can try?

I have already tried that. HTPC with another LCD TV works fine and PJ with other components like TS/ Xtreamer is workign fine. SO this rules out any issue with cable or ports

I have the same PJ, same HD7000 series GPU and the same issue sometimes in handshake between PC and PJ.
But the issue is more because of my connections; I have two displays paired with the graphic card, a monitor and a projector.
The GPU mostly gives preference to the LCD monitor. Switching display on windows does not work sometimes.

You try starting the PJ and then the AVR and then HTPC.

If it does not work, then open catalyst converter (AMD control panel) and try 'Duplicate' or 'Extend' desktop. Press HDMI on the PJ remote while you do this, to force it to search for signals. Check if you have the proper resolution and frequency set. It shall be ideally 720p and 60Hz though the PJ accepts 1080p and down converts the video..

I am not using AVR anymore. I will try check other things that you have mentioned and see of it help. Tnx

Maybe redundant questions but here it comes anyways.

1. Did you try connecting another laptops HDMI out to the Proj to make sure its a problem with your HTPC out signal and not the PJ ?

2. What s/w are you running on your HTPC ?

I am already using TS DTH and Xtreamer via a HDMI switch with PJ. Both of these are detected by PJ and work fine. Alos - I have tried hooking up the HTPC with another TV monitor- works fine.

I was on OpenElec but have now moved to win8. Didn't work with anyone.

one of the tricks that sometimes works:

Turn on projector first and then your source
Turn on source first and then projector

Turning on equipments this way sometimes succeeds in projector catching the signal ... well weird i know but... worked in my case.
