Ordered but not received 51e8000

I was in search of a new TV with large possible screen and excellent PQ for a budget of around 1 lakh.

Panasonic 50ST50 stock was not available. So I settled finally with Samsung 51E8000 which suits my requirement. I saw in their website that displaying the model. But it was not available with most of the dealers in chennai. I called samsung CC and they said they have stocks with specific dealers in specific areas. Finally after multiple searches, Vasanth and Co took the order from me for 86K at 16-feb.

I was extremely happy that i will receive the tv i wanted and they promised to deliver in 2 days. When i found it not being delivered after two days i went back to them and they said they placed order and stock will reach in 10 days. I repeatedly asked for availability and he guaranteed for stocks.

Now my confusion is whether they can really provide me the set?
if they say after 10 days that they cant provide the set then i cant get another tv with current offers by samsung which ends on 28-Feb?
What are the other alternate options i can look for except 51E550?

Tricky situation.
The E8000 got sold off in December itself.
You will not be able to get a better TV at that price. I suggest you wait for a few days. Escalate if possible.
Involve Samsung sales team directly if you can.

The dealer called and confirmed that he didnt and wont get stocks and asked me to choose some other set. Can you suggest me some other good models?

It is unfortunate that you couldn't get the best TV - 51E8000. Leaving it aside, if you want the models (around 1L) which have the reference level picture quality, here are they listed in the order of preference.

1. 50ST50 (Getting a stock is difficult, but some one in the forum got it this month after a direct contact with the Panasonic top management)
2. 50GT50 (I am hearing stocks are available, but not sure ...)
3. HX850 (stocks might be available in less)

I have listed the above models purely based on their PQ performance.
If you don't get any of the above models and If I am in your shoes, I will prefer to wait for the 2013 lineup for Samsung/Panasonic plasmas or the Sony W900A.

If you dont care for 3d and full hd, you can close your eyes and go for panasonic 50X50B plasma.
I happened to read a very promising review about this set on whathifi.com. It even was chosen the best among lg/sammy/panny group test.
I feel that it would beat any set for SD performance also as the resolution is 720p.
And the best part is, it would be very very light on your pocket. With the spare money you can buy a decent BDP.

im going to use the tv for home theatre along with onkyo 4505. So full hd is must and 3d will also be good to have.
