P50gt50d panasonic plasma

I can speak for myself and another forum member who had a terrible time with gt50 and more importantly Panasonic service. From my personal experience I would suggest you to stay away from the model. Instead look for the st50.

Hope it helps though it's coming from my experience.

Thanks for ur suggestion.
Than i will wait for GT60.

don't think they are launching 51F8500 for the Indian market, only 64inches is to be launched or already launched. Has anyone seen the 518500 in the stores?

Better idea!
You will get some updates this week on what will be launched in India.

Please do not post off-topic. This thread is about GT50 purchase.

Gt60 is given the reference grade plasma status by hdtvtest.
Whathifi was almost singing hymns of this set.:D
This tv could be the best tv ,one can buy in India if vt60 and zt60 are not released here.

>>>

1. the objective is to discuss and negotiate hard - since my objective as a potential buyer and that of the dealer as the seller clash, more so in India where the levels of professionalism and trust are low

2. two swallows should not make a summer - out of the total gt50s shipped how many have conked off in the normal course of operations? if it is two gt50s out of two shipped to India, we have a problem

3. the GT series becomes interesting because of the THX functionality; else the ST50 and the ST 60 have been described as the best VFM options by many reviewers in the west

I was told (unofficially)by a sales man that 50GT50 was available for 1L. Is it ok to buy as i did read one or two saying that it suffers for IR more than 50ST. Please suggest.

Definitely yes. It was the best 50 inch tv of 2012 crowned by whathifi. Best 65 inch tv was st50.

I would say no, rather wait for st60's price to drop as it is PQ is comparable to VT50 of last year..

I had a gt50, got refund for it from Panasonic cause of various issues it was suffering from. Smart hub is shitty, banding issues, dse and IR issues are worst. St60 won't have IR issues as per reports and PQ is over all better than last year's model so I'd say buy st60 if you've 100k budget (last year price dropped under 100k for st50) SO DON'T GO WITH GT50. ITS TROUBLESOME HENCE THEY WANNA GET RID OF IT AT SUCH LOW PRICES.
