Dear all,

Please let me know which one is better out of these 2 models. I am getting the 43D450 for 33000 and 42X30D for 36000. My primary uses is listed below. Also if both are priced same which one should I go for.

1) SD DTH ( and sometimes HD channels )
2) Connecting to PC and browsing
3) Watching DVD'S on the weekends

Regards
Tari

Panasonic high end plasmas are gr8 but between TH-P42X30D vs Sam 43D450 i feel D450 is better. I have seen both TV's in showroom and hence suggesting. Croma showroom in JP Nagar has both TV's one below another and so best would be you can see for yourself and decide :)

dear all thanks for the reply. i will check it out in JP nagar cromo today and decide. by the way i am planning to buy this weekend.

One caution while connecting to PC displays - Plasma TV's are generally advised not to be connected to still images like PC's (due to their history of burn in problem)

However the current models say they are immune to this issue. So pl check with some expert members if they've tried the new gen plasma with PC's.

Also pl tell me where you're getting a 33k price for D450 :) I will immediately buy at the price. I'm seeing prices of 40k in Croma and Reliance Digital.

Cheers,
Eshwar

yes, i connect plasma to pc everytime, infact today it was on for 10 hours, just use a screensaver(use something dark like 3d text. doubles up as a power saver too as plasma power consumption depends on screen content) and hide the taskbar, whetever the IR i get goes away once the content is changed

In Kochi I got rates of Rs.35K for 43D450 and Rs. 40K for 43D490. Must be less in Metros

Hi Eshwar , you are right its sorted out with the new model , I was getting the D450 for 33000 from GRIHAS , Indira nagar. But check with them again and make sure you do not end up getting a demo piece.

Hi Madhav I check out today in JP Nagar and even though the samsung looked better PQ wise I preferred the Pany X30D plus the 3 year warranty ( the croma prices are on the higher side)

Finally i got carried away and bought the X30D from PAI for 35000 just few minutes back ( the ice breaker was also the 3 year warranty , piece of mind) and I know this is a good price as I have done over a months research for the correct price in Bangalore. If any body else is interested in getting the pany at that price PM me and I will guide you.

Thanks all for the valuable inputs.

Its just sunk in guys that i have bought the TV today itself even though I was planning to buy on the weekend. 35000 was too good a deal to miss with 3 years warranty , free wall mount and stand.

Thanks for all the help guys they were very helpfull and panny rules whatever people may say. I will give my personal feedback on the TV after 28th Sep once I get back to town and get it installed.

Did you get three year warranty at this price ? Is it company warranty for all three years ?

here I was offered only one year warranty.

Didn't you consider P42U30D? It is a full HD with better features than X30D for few more grands. Not much of a difference in price though.

It is company warranty, and nothing can beat that. 1 year full warranty and 3 year on the panel. The 3 year on the panel is the most important thing as I do not have to pay to replace the panel if something goes wrong.

I did consider U30D as that is a better Tv but price wise there is a difference of 10000-12000 and i was very happy with the PQ of X30D plus i do not give much importance to features , my primary focus is always the PQ as TV is used 90% for viewing than any other thing.

The panel in U30D is much better than X30D, so the PQ should be much better. And also the difference as i know in bangalore is around 5-6K between them. Giria's on Bannerghatta road would give you U30D for around 42K.

i do agree the PQ on U30 is better but i could not afford the extra 7000-8000 , but i am happy with my purchase. and x30 has its own advantages and is bang on the buck for best budget tv
