Actually different grey market dealers will give you different reasons, but the most important of all is, that it is much easier to sell a LCD and they prefer selling things that don't have to be stocked for long. Since, LCD is the buzzword with the average consumer, LCD is what they sell. The reason for selling the Sony also is pretty much the same, ie. in India the Sony brand does not need to be sold, it sells itself. Ofcourse, the ridiculously high premiums charged by Sony in India, does help too.You don't get plasmas, the reason given by a grey dealer way back in 07

You are confusing 2007 with '2005 and earlier'. By 2007, most, rather ill informed people, had already started singing the death knell of Plasma. Not true.in those days in flat panels tv the buzz word was plasma tv.
Which part of my statement did you have problems comprehending? How is it different from what you have stated.Again not true about sony either, the reason they sell only sony in grey is because of the huge price price difference vs showroom.Ofcourse, the ridiculously high premiums charged by Sony in India, does help too.
Well for sizes of 42" plasma was the buzz word, pehaps not it 07 but in 2006 and before. You are confusing 2007 with '2005 and earlier'. By 2007, most, rather ill informed people, had already started singing the death knell of Plasma.
Well its is almost the same as what i said,my bad i some how read it differently in my mobile phone.Which part of my statement did you have problems comprehending? How is it different from what you have stated.
Well i just know 1 grey dealer not to a personal level but strictly for only when i or my friend and relatives buy something.PS: No offense, but how many grey market dealers do you know personally? Do you have any experience in the audio/video business? I have had over 16 years of experience in the business and have known and dealt with, specially until 2007, pretty much most of the grey market dealers in the NCR. I was in the business of Home Theaters, long before the vast majority of this country had even heard the term, or before the likes of Akai came along and misused and totally bastardised the term. In fact, there were probably no more than 4 - 5 people in the NCR, in this business back then. Unlike today, when you find a dealer in every nook and corner thinking and presenting himself as an A/V expert, simply because he has sold a few TVs and a few 'match boxes' masquerading as speakers.
Sorry, if I might have sounded a bit arrogant about it, but that was not the intent. The only point I was trying to make, is that what I stated about the grey market, comes from long yrs of experience in dealing with these dealers.Well i just know 1 grey dealer not to a personal level but strictly for only when i or my friend and relatives buy something.
No i don't have a experience in any bussines .
But i don't get the point you trying to put.
I am sorry but I have been totally disconnected from the A/V business for a few years now and therefore I am sorry I cannot help. Regarding availability of Panasonic plasma TVs in the grey market, there used to be some available until a couple of years ago. But I seriously doubt their availability now.Sanjay,
I don't know if you are an active users, but i would like to capitalize on your experience of grey market.
Is it a sensible decision to buy a panasonic plasma from Grey market. very first are panasonic available from grey route? if yes can you help giving some references. thanks for your help in advance.
