Hi friends, I need some info and clarifications on Panasonic LCD Panel,
The thing is, my friend bought a Panny TX-32LX800C in 2008 and was using it as his primary display for Home theater with a 29 tube for regular TV use until recently when he bought a Panny 42 Plasma for Both TV and HT use.
He shifted the LCD to his bedroom and is using it as multipurpose display for PC, movies and TV. Its now that when he started using it as a PC monitor he has noticed some issue with the display,
The main issue is, there are multiple white dots all over the screen ( not in one particular place) which is only visible in darkest of black screen or when he selects another source with no input on it. This is not seen when there is a any colour on it or in the normal PC, TV or even in the movies with semi dark scene. Its not a pixel issue as according to the info available as 4 such dots make up for a pixel ( or 4 single dots are considered as one Pixel).
He immediately called Panasonic service center to get it checked although the warranty was long gone. The guy who turned up was least close to identifying the issue then giving excuses, infact my friend says the technician could not for love of his job see those dots inspite of best efforts by him to show ( tried all possible methods to show ). Finally the technician left saying its not an issue and they cannot do much. He even went on to the extent of saying, even if it were under warranty they couldn't do much as according to him its not a defect with the panel. If this was a normal issue nor my friend neither me would've bothered, the peculiar thing here is these white dots are :
1) Only visible if you are couple Cms (yes centimeter) away from the TV and observe it very very carefully and offcourse with absolute jet black scene or no source input screen.
2) Not seen In the normal viewing or with the regular moving or still picture not at all visible from even 1feet distance.
Also like mentioned above since the usage was only for the Movies the total hours on the panel is less then 2K hts till date !
So I checked and so did he all over the net to find a solution or definition of this problem but to our dismay this damn model seems like a India specific model ( The TV is made in India with Japan IPS Panel ) and does not show on google at all !
Finally searching here in this forum I found out that many of the guys here have discussed this particular TV and many own it too, So I request all the owners to please check and let me know whether you have this issue or such, and others who may have the details of the equivalent model number of this from US or European models so that we can check and see if this is common phenomena in Panasonic LCD.
I've attached couple of pics of the same for reference. Please check and post your feedback on the same. My friend is really worried and wants to know that either he can ignore this and move on or should he do something to get rid of this.
