Hi Guys,

just wanted to thank the forum for helping me select the tv.:)

So after much deliberation i bought Panny 42X30 (mainly because i thought that it was the best VFM and this is my first big screen so didnt wanted to dive in with too much dough on the first buy).

I booked it today for Rs. 38.5K. And I could bargain for Dish Tv HD box from the dealer. So I am paying Rs.1000/- for set top box and 45 days of free DTH connection which otherwise is worth around 4300/- + subscription for 45 days.:ohyeah:

So all in all,, got a pretty decent deal.:yahoo:

The set will be installed tomorrow, will post some photos after that.

Congrats. The X30 is a good buy.

Let us know your first impressions. Would like a feedback on the screen reflectivity also.

congratulations....but dont forget to be gentle on the screen for the first 100 hrs (burn-in)...even though the manufacturer/dealer may not suggest this is necessary :)

hi AKKI
please clarify what u meant by 'gentle on the screen for the first 100 hrs'

thanks
What he means is use the "anti burn-in" methods during the first 100~150 hours such as:

- lowering the contrast to 25% and brightness to 45%
- running the dvd that has the burn-in slides for 4-5 per day
- switching to zoom mode so that screen fill up completely, i.e., no black bars on top or side

After 100~150 hours, one can go to normal settings.
