Panny 50V20 vs Panny 42GT20 vs Samsung 51D550

Hi,

I am planning to buy a plasma TV for my home theater room. I have narrowed down to three TVs. My budget was 65k (now not sure).

Panny 50V20D - 81k - Amazing PQ but expensive for me and no 3D
Panny 42G20 - 70k - Same PQ as V20 also has 3D but smaller screen
Samsung 51D550 - 75k - Not so great PQ but has 3D and very good features

I am kind of narrowing down to G20. But is the PQ as good as V20? I coudnt find any diff in the demo.

Please all of you share your opinion on which TV should I buy. I will use it mainly for HD movies and games (both equally).

Why did you not consider 42ST30 for the same price as G20?

And those prices you posted are way too high .

When I saw the demo i felt that GT20 looked better than ST30. Also I thought GT series was better than ST series. But ST30 is definitely not ruled out. What is the difference between them in terms of PQ?

Which price are you saying is high? are u saying all of it?
81k for 50V20D is the best price I could get but I did see a post saying that it was available for 76k...havent checked tht store yet...

Where did you get that price for GT20?

V20 is available aadishwars for 76k and there is a group buy price for 51D550 around 65k. So the prices quoted for you are high.

Gt20 price is from the Panasonic brand shop banashankari.

I did see the group buy thread but I am still not very sure on Samsung. The samsung price is from Samsung showroom. I know I can bring that price down but havent cross shopped from that yet.
I have read some really strong recommendations/opinions on V20 models both 42 and 50 which I have not come across from Samsung really. I am just keeping that in the list as it is I believe the best VFM model out there with their feature list.

DOUBLE wrong there,for the price as well as abt the pic !...just check out a d550 yourself 2 confirm what u say! apart from some screen reflection ,which is understandable(since it doesn't have a.r coat)...the samsung d550 has got one of the best p.q in any of the current gen plasma..v20 black levels r little better but difference isnot much for regular viewing,& neither the v20 or d550 disappears in the dark!.....what samsung really excels in is video processing & 3d which is ace & perhaps best in the industry!
....& u get a 51d550 MUCH less than that,mayb even 10k off from that for the final price & that too at many direct retails & NOT at any spl G.B's.

The price & the value u get for the price for such a BIG TV (even if u dont wow'd by its p.q) is an excellent proposition & that is one of the primary reasons why it is such a Hit with value/performance seeking indian customers!

So definitely take a 51d550 demo ourself,look b4 u leap!
