Hi all
I am setting up my turntable setup. Since my amp dont have phono input, came across below options:
1. Bought Pioneer A117 has phono input
2. Buying preamp - BEHRINGER or Pyle only are in my bidget
3. Building phonostage.

I would like to know pros and cons of these options. Already got useful info from Sachu on point 3.

Also noticed that some amp have phono input options like MM, MC, CER and some dont. In those cases how one input serving ally pickup types?

Thanks

If ur already talking about budget then I guess U won't need a MC.... a MM should do just as fine.

I have no idea about the pioneer A117 but if I was you, id definately get the stereo amp rather than a budget preamp.

Again....budget preamps will just get the job done, nothing more. The pyle and behringer and decent plug and play options.

My suggestion is to start off within ur budget and get the TT started first.... enjoy the music! Budget permitting u can get a better TT, amp etc at a later stage.... first start listening to your music and start enjoying the vinyl trip :-)

The golden rule while starting out with records is to start small (scale and budget) and then upgrade is you are comfortable with the format. Stick with the Pioneer's inbuild phonostage for a start. In my view, going the MC route is not a great idea unless you have high grade vinyl and a very good equipment chain. For normal listening, MM should suffice.

Perhaps the most common pre-conceived notion in audio is - the higher the price, the better the quality and durability. While durability is definitely not the case with higher priced stuff being more delicate on the contrary, as far as quality is concerned, its like a similar saying - beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The definition of sound quality varies from person to person, basically what you like to hear is good quality for you :)

the built in phono stage of any decent amp should be as good as, if not better than the pyle etc phono stages

A CNC may be better, but you can do that later, once you get comfortable with the setup

Like said here , stick to phono pre of your integrated Pioneer amp . You whoild be fine for , say 1-2 years , then relook if you need a seperate pre phono .
If you have surplus budget of say RS. 15-18k , can consider even a phono pre now. I have modest pre phono Cambridge Audio 651P , May be in similar budget or less. It is Calss A , MM . Works fine for me , great value.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
