@saketb amazon france has inception suitcase for 17 euros but i guess its quite different from other editions.

Thanks for the information. That is indeed a great price to buy that briefcase, it works out to EUR 29.11 after vat reduction including shipping to India and it is roughly INR 2100/-, which looks a mouth-watering deal.

But as I already have Inception Triple Play Blu-ray, which was purchased for I think INR 1000/-, I guess I will skip this for now.

I guess anything above GBP 40 is gonna attract a big duty..but my case is worse...While I wasn't charged a single duty fr my last 10 purchases in a row all of which had been costing around GBP 25 to GBP 34 ....I was shocked 4 days back to receive my Batman Begins/The Dark Knight Steelbook total GBP 15.05 (Thanks to lightning deal n including shipping) I was slapped a duty of Rs. 791...Guess it was the big box packing that lead them to charge me? It was a lot of packing done fr just one steelbook

This is very shocking indeed!!

How can these people do this, I mean charging more than 40% customs duty is ridiculous.

As per Indian Customs rule under chapter no: 85 - the duty is as follows:

Cost of CD/DVD/Blu-Ray (A): INR 1000 (for example)
Basic Customs Duty (B): 10%
CVD Additional Duty (C): 10%
Central Excise Edu Cess (D): 3%
Customs Education Cess (E): 3%
CVD Special Duty (F): 4%

Calculation:
(A) x Basic Customs Duty(B) 100.00
(A+B) x CVD Duty(C) 110.00
(C) x Central Excise Edu Cess(D) 3.30
(B+C+D) x Customs Edu. Cess(E) 6.40
(A+B+C+D+E) x Spl. CVD(F) 48.79

Total Custom Duty (A+B+C+D+E+F) : INR 268.49 for INR 1000

So, this total works out to 26.849% of the total invoice value including shipping.
For you information the complete HS Code for CD's/DVD's/Blu-ray's (movies) is 85.23.4080.

i guess guys customs for blu ray has increased

i was charged 816 for 1895 rs order

and i even asked sns company what will be charge for 35$ item if customs are applied she said 778 which is 41 or 42% same as above

guess they gonna charge 42 % roughly looks same for just4kix if u calculate.

now customs are sure that was told by sns company to me .

i use to give bakshish every time my parcel comes , so he allowed me to photocopy the receipt they dont allow to take or photocopy. i have 2 or 3 such receipts

My purchases of the last weekend. I happened to visit a different store on Sunday, "Sapna Book Store" and found these on discounts, so grabbed them immediately.

National Treasure 1 & 2 - Great films, watched them before, but wanted to watch them again on Blu-ray so here it is. Both the films are presented in Dolby TrueHD 5.1 with lots and lots of extras.
And yes, both are 50 GB discs and the part 2 includes D-Box code for a vibrating chair experience (if someone has the hardware).

Well got a very good deal... MRP 999 reduced to 799 reduced with further 25% discount, so got both of them for 1200/-.
Sad part, the price sticker cannot be removed as it will damage the sleeve.

got shanghai for 799 flipkart has on discount but most of the sites says they would deliver late , likewise i was already there in landmark ,so thought y not pick it up.

edit congrats on ur purchase i had watched second movie some years back on tv , loved it very much , will pick up both one day
