Pioneer in the late 80's early 90's made some brilliant speakers.
I still have a pair of Pioneer CS-303 Bookshelf speakers Circa early 90's.
Pretty large, very high sensitivity, horn tweeter, Fq Response 40hz -45khz, there is slight spike in the Fq response at 100hz , but otherwise pretty flat right up to 45 khz.
A brilliant set of speakers and performs exceptionally well. Tremendously large soundstage and separation. However because of the Horn loaded Tweeter it is forward sounding without being too bright.
I did a A/B some time back with the B&W685 and the Pioneer. Well the Pioneer did pretty well to keep with the B&W's and outshone them in certain departments especially Instrument separation.
If the new flock of Pioneer Speakers are anything like the very well respected audiophile grade older ones.
Then they will definitely give MS, Wharfy's etc a run for their money
