Panasonic is one of the top, if not the best plasma manufacturer. You have not specified your budget. There are many models to choose from depending on your budget. Recently the 2012 tv's have been launched, so you have a greater selection from the current 2011 and the new 2012 models.

I have both LG and Panasonic and I would say the Panasonic has the upper hand. The LG has a lot lacking with the audio as well whereas the Panasonic is a solid performer. I am really not an expert in the area but visually both seem to be capable with video. Like I said, for me it boiled down to the poor audio on the LG.

+1 to panasonic... had both in 42" and panasonic wins hands down. LG used to have a lot of ghosting / burn in problem, but never seen that on panasonic.

can't really compare Panasonic with LG with relevance to plasma technology, not a fair comparison.............maybe with LED it might be a fair comparison but in plasma Panasonic is the leader. Panasonic has taken plasma technology to new heights after Pioneer stopped making plasma's.

Hi,
You could go for Panasonic as others mentioned here.
I am using a Panasonic 42" V20 for two years and am fully satisfied with the perfomance.
I assume you have a media player to play the mkv files as the tv wont recognize mkv files on its own via usb port(atleast in my V20).Pls check that too.
I am using AC Ryan Playon HD for mkv files and it is a treat to watch.

All the best ..

Congrats on your choice............V20 is indeed a class apart!!!

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
