Pls. Suggest me a good inverter

Hi Guys,
I am planning to buy an inverter for my home. It should handle the below items.
1. TV
2. Refrigerator
3. 3 Tube Lights
4. 2 Fans
I have a view on APC/Luminous sinewave inverters.
Which one will be good for backup and provides a good service after purchase?? Are there any other brands apart from these two??
And also which battery will provide a good performance with these inverters. I am planning to buy either EXIDE or AMARON.

I am using Sukam 3.5KVA pure sine wave Commercial UPS at my residence for Backup with 4 Nos. 180Amp Exide Batteries, and they give me a backup of around 4 hours. I am able to use all my equipments minus the ACs with it and I surely recommend it.

I have a 3KV APC on line unit, pure sine wave for my HT room which works well. Recommended.

My Luminous Inverter (with Exide tubular battery) has been giving me satisfactory service since the last 4 years. Just take care of the distilled water (top-up) once a year. It isn't with sine-wave feature. Have JUST the lights and fans connected to the Inverter .... no refrigerator / TV / HT / music systems / MWO / WM etc. The change-over surge is considered detrimental to the power supply section of the electronics ....... Best to give the systems a break, during power outrages!

I came to know from sites that UPS will cost more than an inverter. Is it true? If so what will be the price difference of UPS and an inverter?

thats ture.....as UPS provides Unintrepted Power Supply where inverter will reset the electronics for a movment......and what is the use if your equipments got reseted.... ;-)

The commercial UPS from Sukam do just fine and have a fast switch over time in UPS mode which doesn't reset electronics. But they are expensive and should be considered if you have that much load requirement.
