Hello Team,

On going through amazon.de site, I found this sub is available for shipping to Hyderabad,India.

Tried ordering, However there are no custom charges/duty tax levied on the order. Was curious and mailed the seller about this.

But this is the reply he gave me

SO CAN SOME ONE HELP ME ON HOW TO GET THIS SUB?

1. IF ORDERED THE ORDER WILL DEFINITELY GET STUCK IN CUSTOMS AND THEY MIGHT DEMAND HIGHER AMOUNT.

2. IF THERE IS A WORK AROUND OR AN ALTERNATIVE , PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

AND ANY REVIEW ON THIS SUB IS APPRECIATED and is it over priced when compared to pricing here in India.

I have do not have actual experience in importing kit, but can share some information that you might want to follow up on. I suggest you ask the seller to send by DHL to india. Talk to the DHL guy in your area, they have agents in the customs who handle the duties and clearance as part of the process. On arrival they will call you and you need to provide some information and pay up the duties to the DHL office. No need to go to customs directly. Duty will be about 32% of the price from what I know. It's best to pay up full price and get it done by the courier company. I am sharing this information which got when I explored buying a big class A amp from a seller abroad. Eventually I chose to buy it from the official dealer at more than two times the price, because of warranty and long term support.

I don't know anything about the particular model, however the SVS SB13 is very well reviewed.

This is the previous model. Current model is SVS sb2000. Available in India and Hyderabad through official dealer for 65-67k approx (I don't know exact price).
So after duties the one from amazon will cost you approx 57k-58k. (assuming 32% - and please add 1k for DHL clearing charges etc) Is it worth saving 8-10k for a sub without warranty, and potential shipping damage etc. and that too for a previous model is your call.

Let me tell you my experience with svs pc12 plus.

3 years back I got it from AUDIRE Coimbatore. Once received the sub I noticed continuous hiss( though little). Then I called them and made them to listen to this. Immediately they changed the amp plate( which may cost half of the product price ) with out any headache.

Moral of this is though bit extra here in india better to go with warrenty

Even if you are buying from amazon , ensure seller is amazon only, which helps in addressing your queries and issues if any sorted

One more vote endorsing buy from the local dealer.
Competent dealers will not only provide support in times of a problem, they also can help out in set up; This is especially relevant in the case of a sub-woofer, he will have the experience and tool kit to optimise the set up.

It would be better to buy locally due to warranty issues and the weight of sub involved
