Dear Friends,

My Power Amp (PA-5 200 Sherbourn) has a convection cooling system, however, I prefer to keep it still more cooler.

Thinking of fixing some cooling solutions, like our computer fan outside the case over it.. etc...

Any ideas..???

This is the insides of the amp ....

Can't make out the free space available after you set the top cover. In case you have 15 mm 'free-space' available, you may put 4 nos. 75 mm dia computer fans (or lesser dia, if available), each sitting on top of the fins, but inside the unit. Idea is, the fans should be a squeeze fit (inside) once the top cover is fixed.

Fan specs is somewhat like this ... 2000 rpm max., 0.14 A each, 12 V. The fans to be connected in parallel with its running power drawn from the on-off switch panel of the amp. Yes, you might need the services of a competent electronic guy to set up the connections for you, just in case ...

The fans would blow out the hot air from the top of the unit, and remain within the unit. So, aesthetics too would remain the same.

These fans would not make any noise and you would need to bring your ears close to the unit to hear them running.

Dont forget that the Fans will suck in a LOT of dust and soon yr Cooling fins will be Dusty Fins:lol:

..... and Dusty Fins dont cool as well as Cooling Fins

Look closely, the 4th diagram on the link provided. Check the fin configuration. Its vertical. Hot dry fins would seldom accumulate enough dust to consider cleaning even once in a year.
