Hello,

I have connected my laptop (HP DV9507) to my DACMagic using the USB connection and am able to listen to FLAC files (44KHz) played by Foobar without a problem.
Yesterday, I downloaded a 24 bit 96 KHz sound sampler from Bower & Wilkins Society of Sound website. Although I could listen to it, the DACMagic shows it as a 44KHz input and not 96KHz. Is there any problem with my DACMagic or is it a restriction of the laptop? Is there a way to fix it so that I can listen to the 96KHz files?
Looking forward to your suggestions to fix this problem.

The USB input on the DAC magic will only support up to 48Khz whereas the optical and coax SPDIF inputs will take up to 96Khz :)

u need a good SPDIF converter .

The OS is Win Vista Home Premium.

Does it mean that I should connect directly from the headphone out to the pre-amp to listen to 24/96? Whats the point of having a DAC in that case?
