PS3 or Xbox

i m a 30 yr old child.should i go for xbox or ps3.sorry this is the first time i am playing without getting my hands dirty...

I am in the same dilemma, however what I have searched thru it seems PS3 is more of an all rounder and should serve you well even when u dont use it for games.

You can pick one with move controller @ 16k from timtara.com after applying 3.5k gift coupon. Thats the best deal on PS3 in India i believe.

Yes I recently bought Kent RO from them. It is going to be delivered on coming Tuesday.

I must say that they have delayed delivery and one has to follow up quite a bit depending on product it seems.

But the current discount on PS3 is too tempting to bear 2-3 weeks of delivery delay.

@ OP - for your primary question, go by what vishu says. had you been a hardcore gamer, i would've suggested you the X360 by a slight degree more (due to a tad better performance of most of the multi-platform titles on the MS platform, as well as much better controller, cheaper titles, and few and infrequent PS3 exclusives), but since this is a hifi forum, and you've raised your doubt here, i understand that enjoying the A/V playing capability is also your desire, and hence i also would whole-heartedly recommend the PS3 to you, due to its very good firmware support, superb A/V upscaling prowess, large enough library of really brilliant PS3-exclusive titles (that gradually keeps growing) to keep you hooked and mesmerised, (and sony's attitude towards its products; you bet it wont let go off the PS3 when PS4 would be released in time soon to come, UNLIKE what MS did to the original xbox when X360 was released). its a great versatile product !

hehe....if you've a capable PC, and hence are not bothered to look beyond PS3-exclusives (which could burn a considerable hole in your pocket frequently), then you've nothing to worry about ! just take the plunge for the 'pleysteyshOn'

ps3 anyday , i own both , i own xbox 360 since oct 2010 and ps3 since oct 2011 . since i got ps3 i stopped playing xbox . in xbox most common games is call of duty , battlefield or fifa . i rarely see people trying other games . some dedicated fans play halo or gears .

but in ps3 you will find all types of gamers , who play sports or shooters or rpg.

now ps3 has got so many exclusives games u might not need to buy third party games .
plus its blu ray disc so it is scratch resistant.
dvd of xbox are prone to scratch.it is also blu ray player 3d enabled . even u can play most of 3d enabled games.

online is free while in xbox you have to pay for it.

you dont have cross game chat in ps3 . means if other person is playing game u cant talk on mic with him.

ps3 games are readily available everywhere . I see many stores in my city which is not big selling ps3 games but not xbox .

graphics wise both third party games are same . but ps3 scores in exclusive .

my verdict ps3 anyday .

but depends on what you wanna play .

slim version of 360 have zero to very less prone to rrod . by the way it is no longer rrod (red ring of death) due to overheating.the slim is as good as ps3 slim in terms of failure

guys beware never buy from timtara , it is said to be fraud site . many guys brought from there stuff , after week when no delivery they get reply item out of stock.everyone gets same msg. they wont pick up phone , reply late to emails . on their facebook wall many people are angry and crying .even if offer too good order on your risk

Recently I bought PS3 from flipkart,delivered in 48 hours.I personally feel if you really don't need Kinect and looking for complete entertainment system go for PS3.I got PS3 move bundle so motion gaming also there and believe Sports champion game is really chamion on Move.So it's complete entertainment Gaming console+Motion sense+Bluray player(Region free)+320 GB HDD+free Online gaming ...straightway winner PS3

PS3 is NOT region-free for movies. If you bought it in India itself, it is region coded to Region C for blu-rays and Region 5 for DVDs.

PS3 is region-free only for games.
