Has anyone tried using these boards for HTPC ?

ZOTAC D2550-ITX WiFi Supreme

ZOTAC D2700-ITX WiFi Supreme

I am looking at running the linux version of XBMC.

There is not much info regaring these boards as pure HTPC boards (just play videos and songs) and not for any other stuff like gaming and transcoding.

It would be great iff anyone has first hand experience in using one of these boards and can share the same.

Looking forward for a healthy discussion, regarding the pros and cons of these boards.

Frndz, atoms are gud or video n audio playback only, if power consumption is an issue go for zacate boards. Else go for a pentium dual core 2nd generation, tht will atleast solve all your basic needs.

Thanks for the responses.

I would just like to understand a few things :

1. Is the Atom D2700 or the D2550 really that weak, that even when paired with a nVidia 520 / 610 it won't be able to offload the video decoding to the GPU ? [I am considering the fact that I would be running linux version of XBMC with VDPAU enabled]

2. Would a core i3 be that much energy efficient compared to the Atom D2700 or D2550 ? [This again is considering the fact that, I won't be doing any transcoding or playing any games or surfing]

3. How would a zacate board be more advantageous over the mentioned zotac boards ? [This again is based on the fact that nvidia has much better support under linux that ati]

Looking for some really concrete answers.
