Recommendations on Banana Plugs

use a good quality spade or banana - in the long run you will hear it
skimp on it - and oxidation is sure shot - you will hear that too -

but ofcourse this is my personal opinion
and like cables this seems to be very hotly contested

Yeah, I will be first to contest it. But I accept that sound can be affected by the oxidisation on the speaker wire. Have seen it. Can trust what I see.

You can check these too...They have great grips..I personally use one of these types and found these to be the best

Wooo. Nagamirchi range. Thanks but cannot afford it.

Actually, I just remembered. I got the local ones just 10 bucks a pair from this shop. You can just ask them for banana plug. I'm sure you will get one in any hardware shop.

Sure, will check with them. Seems like the cheapest option.

You can buy these from the store situated in SP Road, if you would like to travel there, otherwise you can order online at their website as below.
Its listed at Rs. 96.00 for a pair.

These are VFM

Yup, this is my next option. Will settle for these pricier option if I don't land the cheaper option.

Finally ordered some Nagamirchi plugs from AliExpress. Has been some days - still waiting for it to be delivered. But got a good deal. I guess. :yahoo:

I too use Nakamichi banana plugs is gives a clean and tight connection between my Denon X2100 and Boston Acoustics A series speakers.

I do not know if or how it affects the sound quality but can say that banana plugs give a clean and protected connection compared to bare wire!

Am using both nakamichi and swell plugs
My vote for nakamichi as then can be used with any type wires

you know those are fake right ?
Infact RCD ( the company that manufactures them has been sued by NAK and now they have had to remove the logo from their plugs in their adverts )

theyve been using zinc alloys that are gold plated and calling it brass
Infact one of their lots were so bad the material was mistaken to be iron in of the the international forums

the only genuine ones i know of
come out from Japan

it would be wiser to buy from trusted sources

I hope the one displayed on the picture above a few posts is not a fake. I had bought these from Nakamichi plugs which had initially increased the sound quality compared to bare wire I guess.

If indeed these are fakes, kindly suggest any other plugs that can be used and whether will it improve the sound quality after replacing them.

Well, I am no "audiophile" and after replacing with Nagamirchi plugs, they sound the same. It is just a convenience for me. :yahoo:

Congratulations!! Now try plugging the Nakamichis into your ears instead and check if it still sounds the same :D

I was fascinated by Nakamichi Plug. It's obvious they are "fake" but my friend has their banana plugs and they seem quite good. So I googled around and found a few people who were even more fascinated. They actually did tests (in a metallurgy lab) and found that all his claims were true :-)

I got their speakers cables just for fun. I received them yesterday and yet to test it out.

I found using bare conductor on the speaker binding posts and the AVR was a bit tedious when it came to removal and refitting. so I got me 4 sets of Monster Banana plugs, 2 sets of Monster Flexi Plugs and a 12 pairs of Sewell Banana plus (Sewell through Amazon US) for all binding posts. Don't know if there is a marked improvement in performance but I went for convenience.
