Buy movies by Movie Mart, Online DVD Movie Sales

I liked this offer but I cannot avail it because I have recently bought Sony BDP and I do not need 2 BDPs.

* I am not associated with moviemart.
* If someone wants, I can copy+paste the complete email, or I can forward it to your mail id.

Movie Mart's selection of movies on Blu-ray is very limited compared to that of YEN Video library in Gurgaon. As for the Panasonic DMP-BD60, it is quite easily and openly avaialble for Rs. 13,000/-

@sanjay: i talked to those Yen guys: they seem to be charging a bomb ! the plan he quoted me: 999 p.m for unlimited Blurays !or 200/Blu-ray! they may may have a good collection, but its certainly not affordable.. OTOH, moviemart is 2400 for 24 movies( no time limit for validity) They also, have other plans as well..

i just had the bd60 imported thru ebay for 16.5 k.

can i know where?

In a way you get what you pay for. So basically you are sugesting that you are willing to watch a movie simply because it is cheaper. What is the point of a library being cheap if they don't have the movies that one want's to watch. Considering that YEN has a huge and ever growing collection of BDs from the US, which means more Blu-rays with extra features and also uncencored titles that will never be released in India. Also, the quality of the Blu-rays in some instances varies quite drastically between the US releases and the one's stocked by Movie Mart. A perfect example of this being, 'The Reader'. The blu-ray released in India is quite pathetic and ofcourse horribly censored compared to the US release. Obviously the cost of importing the Blu-rays is higher than buying only locally released titles and thus that has to be factored in when judging the price charged by YEN. By the way the monthly plan at YEN, was never 999 p.m for 'unlimited' movies, it was Rs. 899. That too is now reduced to Rs. 799 p.m on the 'Monthly' plan. In any case their 'Quarterly' plan is Rs. 699 p.m, 'Half Yearly' plan is Rs 599 p.m. and their 'Annual' plan works out to only Rs. 499 p.m. for 'unlimited' movies. I really don't think that one can beat these prices, specially considering the great collection and choices that YEN offers. Atleast with YEN I get to chose form pretty much all movie titles that are released, unlike Movie Mart, with whom one is limited to only the few and that too much delayed Blu-ray titles released in India.

>16.5k ebay for region free BDP ?

yea it is region free. some 4 weeks back there was a free shipping offer on ebay global easy buy. so that cut down the price by 2k. normally it is like 18.5 k.

I personally was offered the Panasonic DMP-BD-60 'Region Free' player for Rs. 13,000 in the grey market. Don't know about eBay.
Sorry guys, upon further investigation it seems the player offered to me is 'Region A' for Blu-rays and 'Region Free' only for DVDs. I would suggest that anyone purchasing a Blu-ray player and the other assumption that it is 'Region Free' for Blu-rays, should confirm it first before buying.

On a side not, in actuality unlike DVD players there are no 'Region Free' Blu-ray players and there never will be. 'Region Free' implies that regardless of the region coding on a disc the player will automatically play them all. This is not possible with Blu-ray players. Therefore the best you will ever get is an 'All Region' player, which means that depending on the region coding of the disc, you will have to change the region code of the player manually, each time before playing a different region disc.

Do these rental prices include home delivery of the discs? Anyone know of an equivalent good rental place in Mumbai that has BDs? I live in Andheri area. I actually don't have a BD player yet, but if I see reasonable rates, I will buy one.

he didnt tell me about any other plan that he has.. Maybe since you are his pretty loyal customer, he has special plans for you! Just kidding. :ohyeah: does he not have any per disc plan?? i am talking abt something like 12 disc or 24 disc plan or something like that..

Ofcourse he has a special plan for me, he pays me for renting blu-rays from him. Just kidding.. but don't I wish. :yahoo:
As for my "loyalty", it's based on very good service that I have been receiving from them for years now.

Yes he does have 'per disc' plans. Why don't you contact him directly for the details. Maybe, he prefers to sell his monthly/quaterly etc. plans, so you should ask him specifically about their 'per disc' plans. You can get the contact details from the following thread --> Blu-ray movies & PS3 game rentals in Gurgaon (NCR)

Sanjay can you throw some more light on Yen and do they provide services just in gurgaon or all of NCR.
I don't think he covers Faridabad. But the owner is a nice guy and quite co-operative, so it wouldn't hurt to call him and he just might work out a special package for you. But I presume it would have to involve couriers to get the blu-rays accross. I know he has worked out some special plan for a friend of mine who lives in Delhi, but then he is also located much closer to Gurgaon than Faridabad is.
