hi, Previously i had yamaha mx1000u power amp, but due to some problem with preamp thump it was damaged. from that day onwarads i am looking for a good powerfull amp from yamaha.
finally my friend purchased this amp(YAMAHA MX1 Power amp) for me and he kept in his home for about one year in storage.The amp weighs 25kg, it is a dual mono design with 200w per channel stereo amp with all the way down to 2amps load.i got my hands on this amp during my visit to india and took this amp along with me in check in luggage to my living place(OMAN),the security has stopped me in the airport in Oman,they asked me so many questions, finally i convinced them by showing the user manual and telling them that this is for my home usage.they allowed me to carry this beast with me.
reached home,connected this beast to vintage philips AH280 Preamplifier.source is oppo bdp 83se. speakes are focal 836v flooor standing speakers.
the results:excellent sound, the bass is coming with new definition,i am not say i t is more focussed but well controlled, the woofer control is excellent because of high damping factor. ran about 3hrs ,dead cool.not rise in temperature.It had 04 large caps with each 36000mic fareds,total capacitance 144000,enough to drive most of the difficult loads.completely symmetrical dual mono design, a pleasure to watch.
finally i am very happy with the purchase and enjoying the results
