Hi,

i have just registered on to the forum and need some advice for my HT room measuring 11ft X 17ft. It has granite flooring and well painted walls (should not have done this which i realised latter).

1) the room reflects sound and give echo, so need advice on how to go about getting the right acoustics for the room

2) i am looking for a good 5.1 HT system with AVR. please suggest. I have auditioned Canton movie 90, Onkyo 7.1 and bose

Cheers!!!

If ur room has granite and painted wall, still can be treated and the echo can be eliminated, Whats ur budget/ interests..?

Apply egg foam for sound absorption and cover the same with decorative cloth. Available in sheet form in mumbai. This will reduce the echo maybe. We used in my brothers ht in ceiling and was effective.

Welcome Peanut

You can do some amount of room treatment, using acoustic absorption panels, I suggest you read up a bit on previous posts so that you will get a better idea-many have photographs as well.
