^^ mmmm looks you are all set for a rocking NAS. I am also planning to prepare the part two of the same thread. Its been a year this article has been posted, so time to put the part two as well ....... few pretty nifty features I have added, which I will also share in the part two of this article.

I am sure the costs of building has also increased significantly esp. for the hard drives. I guess the total costs for a 4 TB NAS would now become close to 25k.

unRAID installs are locked to the Unique Device ID of each USB stick.

You can send email with new uuid of the usb drive. They will disable the old and send a new license

One question regarding the UNRAID bootable usb drive. I got a 8gb old pendrive which I unzipped the unraid and used it to boot on my earlier NAS. It booted without any issue. Now I got my new case so installed all the items and used a very small 4gb sandisk usb drive in which I again unzipped the unraid files and tried to boot. I did make the changes in the BIOS to boot first from the Removable disk (but in the case of 8gb drive it used to show as usb:mass storage) but nothing happens the cursor just blinks on the top left hand corner. So I removed the tiny 4gb usb drive and replaced it with my old 8gb usb drive. The system immediately booted without any issues. The reason I opted for the tiny sandisk is I can neatly hide the drive when I put in the case. Not sure what is the problem.
Thanks
