I have a Samsung 40EH5300 connected to the network via LAN cable DLink - Digisol -Cat5e patch cord 2M from my RTN10+ that's repeating the signal from a RTN13U. The TV is able to automatically detect the network settings but is unable to connect to the network/internet. My media player is able to acquire an internet connection through the same method.

Also when giving the output from the TV to external speakers via SPDIF, it's by default LPCM and the Dolby and surround options are greyed out.

My connections are - TataSky HD+ - HDMI, media player -HDMI, mini display port HDMI, all three to AVR in, AVR HDMI out to TV,

Optical connections between TV + AVR & Media player + AVR

Can anyone please advise what am I doing wrong or missing.

Thanks

Do ur internet connection require username/password from web browser to log on or it is an always on connection i.e. no need to enter username/pass..modem does it for you..

Then plz first turn on the modem then after the three green light become stable on the modem the connect it to tv..before connecting it to tv make sure there is no manually address entered in the system..like ip,dns, gateway etc.

Also regarding audio there must be an audio return channel hdmi port in tv...connect media player to tv using hdmi in normal hdmi port.
Now connect the audio return channel(arc) hdmi port with the hdmi port of the media player.

Thank you again for the link.

The TV menus are different on this series, does not matter though as the core settings are the same.

I think I will try connecting the TV directly to the main router, not the one repeating the wireless signal.

Will update you guys if it works when the phone line is shifted to the TV room.

Thank you to Farookh and all who have tried to help.
