Samsung BD 5300 Audio issue.

Hi all,

recently i got a samsung BD 5300 blu ray player. it got bitstream output and pcm o/p as well to choose. when i play my downloaded rips which contains dts/dolby audio with mkv extension from hdd connected via usb.

i get only 2 channel output when set to PCM mode but when i set the output to bitsream i couldnot get any sound/audio from my HT at all, anyone pleasse help me.? i got pioneer vsx 322 k receiver.

Have you connected the BD player to receiver via HDMI?
If yes, in BD player under Audio Options set it to "Bitstream (Unprocessed) :"

Hey Nero 9,

I also have a same BluRay player. The main issue here is no BD players can decode DTS from sources other than discs. If you have downloaded DTS movies from net, then either you use PCM (2 channels) or connect laptop using HDMI to your receiver to get DTS output using SPDIF.

But I am not sure why your are facing issue with Dolby 5.1. It works fine with me.

hi rahul Dolby digital was working fine and yes am facing problem with downloaded movies which contain DTS track. there is no way of getting dts audio instead of coneecting a laptop.?

It works fine if you connect optical digital cable from your BD player to your receiver. Then DTS is decoded. Only thing you need to do is, in input setup of your receiver, you need change input mode from AUTO to OPTICAL. But in this scenario, when you are playing Dolby Digital file then you need to change this again to AUTO or HDMI otherwise it will output sound in multi channel stereo.

This is working totally fine at my end and not much hassle in changing input setting all the time.

I have Pioneer BDP160 which decodes DTS tracks from USB; output is through HDMI.
