I have recently purchased Samsung 32F5500. I am getting a 3 year extended warranty for around Rs.3900 . Should I get the extended warranty? Is it required? Is 3 year extended warranty for 3900 bucks a good deal?

Is this warranty from Samsung ?

I got an extended warranty for my 50 " LG plasma from Croma. It conked off in year 2 and they had to change the whole motherboard so in my case it paid off.

3900 is what % of your buy price ? I paid app same amount for a 70 K + TV 2 years ago.

It is better to take the extended warranty as it covers any repairs during the warranty period. You will have peace of mind for 4 yrs.

2 yrs extended warranty is what you would have got.... I paid 7.5K formy Sony 46 incher for additioanl 2 yrs warranty...

1) I am getting the 3 year Extended Warranty from Samsung itself.
2) My TV has a default warranty of 1 yr. So after buying this 3 yr extended warranty, the total warranty period will become 1 + 3 = 4 years.
3) I am paying almost 10% of my TV's cost for the 3 yr extended warranty.

You can get the 3-years warranty now or you can do that by the end of 1-year.

I would say go ahead, there are very few components that you will be able to buy in the warranty price, and these things do keep going bad routinely.

Yes I checked with the service centre. I can either buy anytime before the 1st year gets over. Most probably I will buy it right away so that I don't need to remember it for the entire year. Don't want to risk on loosing the extended warranty. Also it seems that the warranty can be extended only once. You can either either purchase a 1yr, 2yr or a 3yr extended warranty. You can't buy a 1yr extended warranty now, and then again extend it by 1yr later. It is a 'one time only' opportunity.

Yes this is correct. As per Samsung policy it can be availed only once.
My advice is get it now when it is available. There can be price difference if you wait till end of the 1st year.
