Hi everyone,
I'm planning to buy a HTiB. I have read forum posts and understand that onkyo is the most sought after brand. I'm confused between the onkyo 3500/3400 or samsung HT-E6750W which comes with a bluray player and 7.1 ch.
The onkyo series comes with 5.1 ch specs. I'd like to know if you can later upgrade to 7.1 ?
I'm really new to this so if u all know of a better alternative then please suggest me one.

There are hardly any movies available in 7.1. A 5.1 is enough. If you want avr with 7.1 upgradeable then look for Denon 1312XP.

An AVR based HTiB is always better than the All-in-one HTiBs.

Don't fall for 7.1 You will hardly get any movies which have 7.1 sound track. I suggest you to look for Denon 1312XP. A better system in terms of sound and built quality.

onkyo 3400/3500 cannot be upgraded to 7.1. do u really need a 7.1 setup?
onkyo anytime over samsung will be choice of the forum.

No, i dont really need a 7.1 setup per se but since samsung had that feature and was in my budget I was thinking about it.

I will check out denon.

Thanks a lot everyone for your suggestions.:)
