Samsung Plasma 51F5500 Owners Thread /Reviews/Discussions!!

Let me put it like this ....
The LG is obviously much better if seen side by side with the plasma. Its a different beast.
That said, even without HDR and significantly less processor capability, I still don't mind watching 2k or 4k content on the plasma. In fact, I still occasionally do so, because on a stand alone basis, it's still an excellent TV. The colour balance is very natural, there's no eye strain and it's just a joy to watch, no question. Also, for the past about 4/5 years, it's being used about 70% of the time with PS 4 & 5, with nil image burn in.
In contrast, nowadays I simply dont feel like using a couple of LCDs that I have (a Pana and a Samsung ... both 12+ years old and in perfect condition), because the pic is just too "in your face", if you know what I mean.
In a world with no OLED, I'd still be very happy with the plasma, notwithstanding the heat generated and the power consumed.
Hope this answers your query.
thanks! while researching for which TV to buy earlier this year, i had come across a comparison between an OLED & a plasma TV (pana VT20, which i used to have), and from the video i felt that the difference between the two in the PQ atleast was minimal. you're right on point about the colour balance & natural tone, and the relieving lack of eye-strain!
if my plasma would've had been repairable i would've indeed continued using the same!
