Hi Members,
Strange issue with my Samsung PS43D490 with RCA (Yellow cable) input to TV.

When I connect my DVD player/ Hathway STB to the TV through RCA (yellow cable), the video appears to be burnt on the screen. The faces of people or cricket match pitch etc stuff look horribly burnt. The issue is not with a particular source (STB/DVD player) or the cable (RCA) as I had chekced it by changing the sources and cables.

The USB/HDMI/RF cable input videos look nice.

Can anyone let me know how to resolve this issue!

-Thx

Has the installation personnel come to your house?
If no, wait for him and show that to him.

May be your Tv settings for contrast/ hue/ saturation set to high on composite (yellow) mode which loads automatically whenever switched. Try customizing all values.

I tried doing that but the skin tones appear same!....i've called the customer care and they will visit my house today....fingers "X"ed for the time being....

Samsung technical person visited my house and confirmed that the AV (yellow) port had a short circuit due to the Cable wire through STB. To change it, the entire port board has to be replaced as they wont be available in single. He told it will take time to change to board as the process is time taking to place a request and to procure the board.

hmm thats bad! hope they replace it by the earliest! does Samsung have extended warranty ?? if yes then please get it!

What can be covered in Extended warranty if available?
i am not sure, but Sony cover the panel and other related stuff.but in the case of Samsung i dont know since there was no mention of extended warranty anywhere on the website! i asked a dealer in Goa and he said we will have to talk to the Samsung service center!(not sure if they give). please ask your respective service guys. they might have the terms and conditions,if all they give extended warranty!

The technical person claims that it was because of Short circuit due to Cable line wire. If that is the actual reason why was the STB not affected? I was using the same STB and wire for quite sometime and never I had this problem; nor with any of the electrical appliances at my home. Does he want to prove anything else?

I am not very good at Electronics; can somebody elucidate what & where the problem could be?

I got a replacement (TV) today and I am extremely happy:yahoo: and thankful to Samsung for their Service and Customer Care.:clapping:
