:rolleyes:NEW DELHI Samsung on Tuesday
said it will introduce ultra high definition television sets in India by the
end of next year after it rolls out the technology globally in 2013.Samsung has already developed the technology for ultra high-definition television (UHDTV ),which has a minimum resolution of 3840x2160 pixels,or 8.3 megapixels. We have developed the technology and are ready with it.We are planning to introduce it globally sometime next year and the India-launch will happen by the end of next year, Samsung India Electronics General Manager (AV Division) Taeho Park told reporters here. The company is not launching UHDTV immediately as the content is not yet available for it,he added. Many of our competitors are also working on this technology, which uses four times more pixels than the high definition TVs.Samsung has developed it in Korea and we will sell UHDTVs in India by importing them from Korea, Park said. He,however, declined to share details such as possible price range or the size of the panels.Meanwhile,to tap the ongoing festive season,Samsung India Electronics today introduced a new LED TV 75ES9000,priced at.7.5 lakh.

Samsung 75ES9000 LED TV :

Samsung's newest 3D LED TV is a huge 75 inches. It offers full HD resolution,a super-slim 7.9mm bezel, smart TV features with several built in apps,DLNA,Wi-Fi Direct,a built in camera/microphone and micro dimming technology for high black levels.Apart from enabling video chat through Skype, the camera-mic combo also enables voice and gesture recognition. It has built-in Wi-Fi,3 HDMI ports,3 USB ports, component, composite, optical,MHL as well as Ethernet ports.Smart functions include a new feature called "Sound Share" that lets the TV connect wirelessly to Samsung's Series 6/7 wireless audio systems. The price includes four pair of 3D glasses.

4k tv need quite a few years to permeate the market. After all it is not just the tv but the sources that are important. There are no such 4k tv channels or 4k discs available as yet. Buying one will be just like buying a full hd tv in 2000.

The size of the 4K content is also a problem...think a review sample clip was around 500gb or so and a full 90 minute would take around 3.6TB or over 200 BD discs. So, digital distribution also won't be possible in near future. If they can sort these probs out and come up with an 84 incher around 2L mark, then I am game.:D :D But seeing their expectation to sell around 2000 sets a year by 2017, that dream is a good bit far away.
