Hello all,

Yesterday, on instructions from my mother, the maid used a regular/rough cleaning cloth to wipe the plasma screen and and now when observed carefully from a close distance, many small scratches can be seen.

Are these permanent? Is there anyway I can get rid of these scratches?

Experts, please comment!

You can try cleaning with a moist lint free LCD cleaning cloth and recheck the faint scratches. Plasma panels are made from glass as compared to LCD ones (plastic) and difficult to scratch. If the surrounding plastic shows scratches they are difficult to remove though buffing compounds are available internationally.

Are you sure these are scratches and not water marks? It's not easy to scratch a glass surface with cloth, unless it had particulate matter in it.

It may be water marks as pointed out by ontherocks. Use an LCD monitor cleaner available in computer shops.

Does ST30 have black coating?

Anyway, a microfiber should be used to clean anything above floor level. Course cloth only on floor.
