Hi all
I already have a ht setup with marantz receiver/amp monitor audio speakers and and all in my music room
I am looking for a system for my living room tv lg lm6700 which has just optical out amd arc hdmi . My main purpose is to increase the sound of tv and some music. So a 2.1 is fine

Budget is within 20k as it will serve just as secondary setup

With all search
I could shortlist
Philips 2163 b sound bar..( 12 k for hdmi arc.. Bluetooth etc..) jbl bd100..
Ca am5 amp with budget bookshelves and an optical to analogue converter..

Please share your views.. Still searching for options.. And i cannot audition as i am in indore.. Noneof them are available here..

A soundbar is a perfect device if you are looking only to amplify tv sound. If you need it more for music then a stereo amp with budget bookshelves would be ideal. I also have the lm6700 and missed the analog audio out when i did not have a home theater. Would vote for the stereo setup if you plan on watching movies also. Takeba look at boston acoustics soundware xs digital cinema which you can get from croma @ 13-14k which has optical, rca, blutooth as well. As these are satellites you wont have issues with placement as well.

Why don't you go for a Stereo amp like Sonodyne 310 or CA Topaz or Norge 2060. You can pair it with good bookshelves like Polk TSX110B and make it for both TV and Music in the living room ? Soundbar in my opinion is a compromise at budget level. You have a Marantz setup in your cinema room, you may not like soundbar for living room unless it is really a good one which may not be 20K I guess.

Thanks for your inputs ! For stereo listening i will use my music room setup.this will be mainly used by my family members.. hence the stereo amp and bookshelf is the last option .. will be better off with decent soundbar or speaker system with digital input. a very High output is not required
I could'nt find boston acoustics onlin in indian stores..

How is JBL BD100 for 17.5 K ?.. ( with ARC , Player and 5.1 speakers) is it a okay system or something else should be considered..

Sound bar with HDMI-ARC function will save you the hassles of wires with juz one HDMI cable and HDMI-CEC function in the soundbar will allow you control your TV with soundbar remote.....So that's a bonus feature...

If you like the convenience of functionality & enhanced sound, then Philips soundbar should be good.... Else powered speakers/ conventional stereo amp + speaker route....

If you can stretch you budget little bit then check out Onkyo LS3100 . I am using it with my TV for last 2+ years and really happy with it, even now.

The sound is really good, its looks really nice for a living room setup. The sub is wireless so you place it where you want. The two features l like:

1. It integrates seamlessly. You don't need yet another remote to operate it. It works with LG remote for on/off/volume/mute/etc. So its quite easy for everyone on my family to use it.

2. There is a clear-voice (or something like that) mode which makes the dialogues really crisp. This is really useful for late night TV watching when you dont want much of boom-boom.

I picked it up for around 30K should be lesser now.
