I was looking for a good headphones for my iphone and came across this model from Sennheiser with good reviews online. In the meantime I took a demo of the JBL Tempo (on ear) at the Phoenix market city and was impressed with the bass but the vocals were not clear enough to enjoy the music. I am looking for a good VFM headphones purely for music in and around 3k range compatible with iphone which are light, portable, foldable and will be using it during the daily bus travel :).

The Sennheiser is coming around 3k online and the JBL is coming around 1.4k online but the showroom price was 2k.

Any other suggestions are most welcome...

Thanks

If you look around for the Sennheiser PX-100 II you should be able to find it under 2k online. I bought mine off ebay but that was a while ago for under 2k. Sealed and perfect condition.

I dont have much experience but with other headphones but the Sennheiser is definitely VFM. It reproduces the music well and is very comfortable and light.

PX-100 is an excellent headphone. I had used it for a long time. But, it is open and sound will be audible to others. I have a pair of mint condition Sennheiser HD219 on-ear closed headphones. Very light and comfortable headphones, sweet and airy sound. Bought it but never used more than 2-3 times. I prefer in-ears more. Only problem, it cannot be folded fully. But, it can be made flat by twisting the ear pieces. PM me if you are interested.

I checked online both in ebay and other sites and the lowest I was able to get is 3k in Infibeam site with a 5% discount coupon.

Thanks

PX100 had better reviews that PX 100-II.I heard PX80 which were good sounding.
Sound leaks outside though.

I have used PX100 in the past and at present use a PX100-II. PX100, as I remember, is a bit refined and well behaved, perfect for private listening of mp3 and iTunes tracks. PX100-II, on the other hand, has a bit of punch on the mid-bass, and marginally forward on mids (vocals). Treble is probably the same. Both smooth and clean at all levels with no trace of harshness. I think Sennheiser had the every day commuter and his noisy environment in mind when they upgraded the PX100 to level II.

Last few years I have been using Sennheiser PX100 which was an excellent headphones, lightweight, easy on ears but sadly end of it's time. So last week purchsed PX100-II from Flipkart for Rs 2299.00. Compared to previous version, this sits heavier on head but equally good in audio. PX100 gets folded and stored in plastic container. Ditto with PX100-II but stores in a nylon/cloth bag with tie string. No complaints so far.

I was surprised to see the following notice on Sennheiser Indian website.

Important notice

Amazon.in, Snapdeal, eBay and other e-commerce websites are not authorized Sennheiser Resellers.
We encourage you to check your warranty entitlements when you buy from these websites.
Sennheiser - Headphones & Headsets - Microphones - Integrated Systems

I thought online sellers like Amazon.in, Flipkart etc were authorized resellers and the warranty will be valid. Did anyone encountered warranty problems from Sennheiser India when bought from these resellers?
I was able to register my headphone on Sennheiser website and warranty validated till August 2016. While registering I gave the dealer name as Flipkart.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
